You can ask us to delete personal information we hold about you, including information we received because you messaged us on WhatsApp or because we messaged you through the WhatsApp Cloud API.
How to ask
Email info@bpo.lk with the subject “Data deletion request”. Include:
- Your full name.
- The email address and phone number we would have on file.
- Your WhatsApp number, if you contacted us on WhatsApp.
- Whether the request is about a website enquiry, a job application, a WhatsApp conversation, or client work.
You can send the same request from the WhatsApp number you used to contact us (+94 70 599 6013).
We reply within 30 days. We may ask for information to confirm the request is from you. We delete or anonymise the information we hold within 30 days of confirming the request, unless a reason below applies. If it applies, we tell you what we still hold and why.
What we delete
- Contact-form details and related enquiry emails.
- WhatsApp phone number, profile name, message content, and attachments we stored for that conversation.
- Job-application details and the resume, when the request comes from the applicant and we no longer need the file for the hiring decision.
- Marketing contact details, if we hold any.
What we may keep
We keep information where Sri Lankan law requires a record, where we need it to finish a service you or your company asked us to perform, or where we need it to establish or defend a legal claim. Company, tax, accounting, payroll, and employment records often fall into that group. We keep only what that duty requires, and only for that period.
Deleting data in our systems does not delete the copy WhatsApp or Meta holds. You can also review WhatsApp’s own controls in the WhatsApp app and Meta’s privacy tools.
If you used Facebook Login on a BPO app
This business does not use Facebook Login on www.bpo.lk. If a BPO app later lets you sign in with Facebook, a deletion request started inside Facebook will be confirmed on this page with a confirmation code, and we will complete the deletion on the same timeline.
